Beautiful willow tree on Deer Creek Road out of White Bird, Idaho

 

 

 

 

This beautiful willow tree was located at the corner of a property where livestock took advantage of the shade.

 

 

 

We spotted this magnificent willow tree when driving to Pittsburgh Landing on the Snake River in Hells Canyon. We were driving from White Bird on Deer Creek Road that turns into Forest Service Road 493 somewhere between White Bird and Pittsburgh Landing.

We stopped to take a picture of this large willow tree. Look closely at the size of this trunk. This tree was located on west Center Street near Utah Lakes State Park.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ancient willow tree on Main Street in Virginia City, Montana

 

 

 

 

 

 

We are enjoying Virginia City, Montana east of Ennis. Riding through the old gold mining town of Virginia City transports you back into another era. I had to stop and get a better look at this old willow tree. It is a big one and probably very old. I can see the scar where a huge piece of it has recently broken off. What remains is still a large willow tree.

Joyce spotted this beautiful weeping willow in Salida. We thought it unusual since we are around 8,000 feet in altitude. The white trunks are aspin. We just didn't think of weeping willow as a mountain tree.
